Emmett Johnson Jafari is a candidate for the 8th District School Board seat currently held by Dawn Page. Ms.Page has not stated whether she intends to run for re-election this fall.
Mr.Jafari has previously unsuccessfully run for the 8th district school board seat in 2000, sheriff in 2001, mayor in 2004, sheriff in 2005, clerk of the court in 2011 and 2014 (his best, with 22% of the vote), sheriff in 2017, and mayor in 2020.
HERE is a list of current candidates for School Board and City Council districts in South Richmond.
I noted your snippet sharing my ongoing efforts to serve the citizens of the City of Richmond. Many of the elected officials that we know of and the current precedents in legal jurisprudence only reached those points through persistence after failed prior attempts. It is this approach that our youth and students need now, not negative compilations and inferences for trying until all goals their reached. Your news medium could have indicated that I am a certified paralegal, a product of R.P.S., my family history in Richmond since 1860, or any numbers of the R.P.S. and position qualifying experience and successes appearing on my website, which you hyperlinked. You instead opted to focus on my unsuccessful attempts to serve Richmond’s citizenry. Your release displayed the ballot name of the other candidate while not extending the same courtesy to my campaign. Your leanings precede you. I would suggest that your news medium perform at least as much due diligence and digging on other candidates as it has attempted to negatively compile on and portray about my campaign. After all full disclosures of all facts about all candidates are a journalistic requirement. I will win despite yours and other such efforts. Have a good day…
