Police identify man killed after being hit by unknown driver on Snead Road

Richmond Police have identified the man killed Saturday after being hit by an unknown driver on Snead Road as Rashik Cousins.

Richmond Police Crash Team investigators have identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal hit and run on Saturday on Snead Road as Rashik Cousins, 31, of Richmond.

At approximately 2:27 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, officers were called to the 4900 block of Snead Road for the report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and located an adult male and an adult female who had been struck by a passing vehicle while they were walking on the side of the roadway.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The RPD Crash Team responded and is conducting the investigation.
