Shooting victim found in trunk has been identified
The shooting victim found yesterday on Dinwiddie Avenue has been identified as Kenyatta Johnson, 29, of North Chesterfield.
This is the 8th killing in South Richmond this year; last year at this time there had been 21.

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim that was found in the vehicle on Dinwiddie Avenue yesterday as Kenyatta Johnson, 29, of North Chesterfield.
Yesterday at approximately 12:02 p.m., a passerby observed a vehicle parked in the grassy area, off the roadway, in the 1400 block of Dinwiddie Avenue. He notified police that there was an unresponsive male inside.
Officers arrived and found an adult male in the vehicle, Johnson, who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
