Man charged in Wythemar Street killing from December

Arrest Made in Wythemar Street Homicide

Following an indictment by a grand jury on Wednesday, January 15, the suspect in the homicide that occurred in the 100 block of Wythemar Street in December has now been charged for that incident.

Javontae Walton, 30, of Richmond, has been charged with murder. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 12:06 p.m., Monday, December 23, officers were called to the 100 block of Wythemar Street for the report of a person stabbed. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Sean Scott, 26, of Richmond down and injured with apparent stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
