Arrest made in November killing of teen on Snead Road

Following an indictment obtained by a grand jury today, the suspect in the homicide that occurred in the 5000 block of Snead Road in November has now been charged for that incident.

Jacquawn Coe, 23, of Richmond, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in relation to this homicide. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 4:22 a.m., November 20, officers were called to the 2800 block of Broad Rock Boulevard for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a juvenile male, 17, of Richmond, down and unresponsive on the curb of the roadway. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Major Crimes detectives responded and learned the victim was dropped off at the location by an unknown person or persons in a vehicle. That vehicle left the area prior to the arrival of officers. At approximately the same time, officers were called to the 5000 block of Snead Road for the report of random gunfire. Detectives have determined this was the location of the shooting.
