Man killed while crossing Hull Street

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal collision on Hull Street Road on Friday as Charles Hunt, 66, of Richmond.

At approximately 6:37 p.m., on Friday, February 21, officers were called to the 3800 block of Hull Street Road for the report of an SUV that struck a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found the male pedestrian, Hunt, down and unresponsive in the right westbound travel lane of Hull Street Road. Hunt was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene to investigate and have determined that Hunt was attempting to make a mid-block crossing from the north side of the street to the south side when he was struck. The driver was operating the vehicle westbound in the left lane when the vehicle struck Hunt. The driver remained on the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
