Council to consider pedestrian bridge, road closure, commercial development

The agenda for Monday’s City Council meeting has 3 items directly pertaining to Southside, all of them on the consent agenda.

  • ORD. 2022-205 which makes changes to the planned development by the Publix:

    To amend Ord. No. 2000-410-2001-10, adopted Jan. 8, 2001, as previously amended by Ord. No. 2001-220-231, adopted Jul. 23, 2001, and Ord. No. 2017-242, adopted May 29, 2019, which approved the “Shops at Stratford Hills Community Unit Plan,” for the purpose of increasing the area subject to the community unit plan by 2.85 acres to 67.4? acres and modifying the development standards, under certain terms and conditions. (4th District)

  • ORD. 2022-340 which reconfigures how the public streets run at Belle Heights on Semmes Ave:

    To close, to public use and travel, an unimproved portion of West 20th Street located between Semmes Avenue and Sioux Falls Alley, consisting of 10,486 ± square feet, upon certain terms and conditions.

  • ORD. 2023-358 which would connect Potterfield Bridge to the planned Fall Line Trail:

    To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond, to execute a Standard Project Administration Agreement between the City of Richmond and the Central Virginia Transportation Authority for the purpose of providing funding for the Manchester Connection to James River project consisting of a ten-foot shared use path with two-foot shoulders and a new pedestrian bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks.
