Small Business Legal Workshop

The Capital Region Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Richmond Public Law Library (RPL) are hosting an educational workshop focused on counseling and legal resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the Richmond region. Learn the basics of how to set up a business, legal filings and entity status such as LLC, S-Corp, B-Corp, and more. Hosted by a local attorney and staff of the SBDC. The RPL Law Librarian will also show patrons how to access sample legal documents such as contracts, MOAs, and licensing agreements using the Law Library’s free resources.

This workshop will be held at the Broad Rock Branch Library located at 4820 Old Warwick Rd., Richmond, VA 23224. Call 804-646-8488 for details.

The 60-ish min yoga class will be taught by Carly Shields, 200-hr, owner of RVA Yoga Hang. This class will be suitable for all levels and will be Vinyasa-based, but low-impact. Please bring your own mat if you have one, though some will be available to borrow. Please bring any additional props you wish to use.

Poetry Workshop Series with Jamil Jasey

This Poetry Workshop for teens, tweens, and their families is an ideal way for family bonding, getting creative juices flowing, and polishing communication skills! This is an ongoing 6-session series, with opportunities to share talents honed during the Workshop. Adults must bring a pre-teen or teen to attend the Workshop. Teens and Pre-teens are invited to bring friends and siblings, but must bring at least one parent, guardian, or adult mentor with them to attend the Workshop.

Jamil Jasey is a local Spoken Word Artist. He was instrumental in making the first Black Male Emergent Readers (BMER) Summer Book Club a tremendous success, using poetry to inspire teen boys to read!
