THIS WEEK’S CALENDAR

Sports Backers’ newest half marathon and 5k are a chance to celebrate Richmond beyond the downtown city streets. Watch nature wake from its winter slumber and take in the early signs of spring in Virginia as you run over and along the James River, through well-established neighborhoods and outdoor gems like Pony Pasture, and start and finish on the gorgeous campus of the University of Richmond.

Come join the Oak Grove Neighborhood Association for our second Spring Neighborhood Clean up

We are kicking off our first day at Broad Rock Community Garden on March 9th at 11 a.m., and we would love it if you could make it out! 🌼

We are going to need help rebuilding some garden beds, as well as shoveling the compost from Richmond’s compost I initiative into them!

Also, we have some fruit trees that need pruning and mulching to be done around the garden as well.

South of the James Farmers Market is open Sundays in Forest Hill Park at the corner of New Kent and 42nd Street. Year round.

We’ll be meeting at the parking lot at Pony Pasture (look for the big blue HOKA tent) and navigating our way through the wonderful riverside trails of the JRPS to reach our 5k goal!

We’ll have HOKA on-site with demo shoes for the runners, walkers, rollers and strollers of the day and we can’t wait to see your adventurous furry friends there too! We’ll be accepting Venmo donations, material donations, and used gear (leashes, food bowls, toys, etc) and driving directly over to RACC when we’re done to drop off our donations! We’ll also have a fun photo station for you to take sweet pictures with your pets!

Come out and join us, March 10th at 12pm, bring your friends & fur babies, meet new people and get outside & connect in a positive way while doing some serious good!!
