Man dies in early morning car accident in Manchester

RPD Crash Team Investigating Traffic-Related Fatality

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is investigating a two-vehicle collision early this morning that resulted in a fatality.

Today at approximately 4:11 a.m., officers were called to the 700 block of Hull Street for the report of a collision. Officers arrived and located the driver and sole occupant of a vehicle that had been traveling east on Hull Street that struck a USPS truck that was traveling south on Commerce Road. The striking vehicle left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant and came to rest on its side.

The driver of the striking vehicle, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and have determined that the striking vehicle ran the red traffic light, resulting in the collision.
