Protective order dropped for Delegate Jones (UPDATED)

POSTED 4/8/24 / UPDATED 4/9/24

WTVR reported on Monday that the wife of Virginia Delegate Michael Jones has been granted a preliminary protective order against him over allegations of abuse. He has denied the allegations.

Today more of the story has come out, and the judge has declined to extend the protective order.

As this seems to have turned out to be a family matter and apparently not an incident of abuse by Mr.Jones, out of respect for the family’s privacy we’re not going to follow this story any longer.

A pastor at Village of Faith, Jones represents the House of Delegates District 77 (split between South Richmond & Chesterfield County) after being elected in November of last year. He had previously served a full term on Richmond City Council representing the 9th District after being elected in 2016, and partial term after being re-elected in 2020.
