Police announce curfew, increased patrols in hot spots in response to recent violence
Apr 15, 2024 | by John M.
In response to a rash of violence centered in the East End that has left 8 people dead (including 4 teens) since March 31, the Richmond Police today declared a curfew from 11PM-5AM for all unemancipated minors under the age of 18. In addition, they will increase patrols at 21 “gun violence hot spots” in the city (including 10 in South Richmond).
Worth noting, South Richmond has only seen 2 homicides in 2024. Last year at this time we were at 11, with 4 more to come in the last half of April.
