The work stop at Brady Square apartments has kept hundreds of affordable apartments off line and has impacted lives.

From WRIC:

In the fall of 2023, this Richmond woman didn’t hesitate to apply and later paid the property management group, Lawson Companies, $100 to reserve her spot. She says she was told she would be able to move into the property in May 2024.

[…]

For months, she says she had no choice but to exhaust her funds living in a hotel and ultimately moving into her car. Now, instead of moving into her new home this summer, she is applying for other places to live.

  1. I’m also been waiting to get more info about Brady square apt I’ve been on the waiting list number 41 since I applied in 2/2023 rrha has not informed of the delay and not able to find anywhere else I’m disabled but able to live independently if I can find anywhere affordable I have reached for updates from rrha and no response

  2. I remember Lawson had a lawsuit against them for charging voucher holders a higher rent at a property they no longer own called Belle Summit Apartments on Cowardin Ave. The article was in the Richmond Times Dispatch.

  3. These people told me 4 different move in dates just for me to see in the news that they owed the builders money. So when I asked for my deposit back application fee and other money the told me that it was none refundable. No I call the same number I been calling and use the same email I was using to stay in contact with them is now not working. I just need my funds back.
