Man found shot to death on Richmond Highway

A man was found shot to death this morning in the 200 block of Richmond Highway. This is the 13th killing in South Richmond in 2024; last year at this time there had been 25.

From the RPD:

Today at approximately 7:12 a.m., officers were called to the 200 block of Richmond Highway for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and found an adult male down and unresponsive in a front yard of a structure. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
