Planning to consider new houses for Dana Street, designs for Richmond Highway and Westover Park

The Planning Commission meets Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at City Hall, and will consider 3 projects in the area:

• ORD. 2024-328 To authorize the special use of the property known as 2501 Dana Street for the purpose of up to three single-family detached dwellings, upon certain terms and conditions. (8th District)

  WHAT IT MEANS: The address is a double lot. Instead of 2 houses, they would like to build 3 with smaller yards.

• UDC 2025-01 UDC 2025-01 FINAL Location, Character, and Extent review of expansion of the right-of-way along Richmond Hwy between Hull Street and Maury St.

  WHAT IT MEANS: “make “improvements along Richmond Highway (US Route 1/301) between Hull Street and Albany Street These improvements include dedicated left-turn lanes on Decatur Street and Maury Street; access management through entrance closures and consolidation; modernized traffic signals at Maury Street, Stockton Street, and Decatur Street; improved pedestrian infrastructure including median refuges, bump-outs, pedestrian signals and countdown timers, and accessibility improvements project-wide”

• ORD. 2024-311 UDC 2025-02 FINAL location, character, and extent review of Phase 1 for the proposed renovation of Westover Park, including construction of new features, located at 1301 Jahnke Road.
