Richmond Connects Final Action Plan details city’s plan to make streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists

The most recent weekly email from the Sarah Abubaker (4th District City Council) has a little bit about the Richmond Connects Final Action Plan (PDF):

From summer 2022 through the end of 2024, the City engaged in a City-wide process called Richmond Connects, designed to develop Richmond’s multimodal transportation plan. During the process, the City held numerous community engagement sessions and listened directly to Richmonders about what is needed to make their streets safer for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

At the conclusion of the process, Richmond Connects released their Final Action Plan. The report is incredibly comprehensive, and I would encourage you to read it to learn more about what is planned for your neighborhoods and our city as a whole.

Somehow calling the Richmond Connects Final Action Plan (PDF) “incredibly comprehensive” sells short just how much info is in there. Check it out to get a sense of what the city hopes to accomplish with regard to sidewalks, bike lanes, GRTC bus stop and service improvements and more.
