First Richmond People’s Budget workshop is set for February 28
The first workshop of the Richmond People’s Budget will be Wednesday February 28 at the Westover Hills Library.
This meeting is the first of a series inviting the community to learn a bit more and get feedback about the Richmond People’s Budget. The community is invited to join us in person or online.
The hour and a half workshop will give residents a first-hand experience about the process, walking through the idea collection, proposal development, and voting stages. Our goal is to prepare both the community and city to make the Richmond People’s Budget effort a success.
Food and interpretation will be provided.

Richmond City Council passed a resolution supporting the development of a participatory budgeting process in Richmond in 2019, with the goal of giving residents a more direct voice in the application of a portion of the capital improvement budget. In 2021, City Council created a PB Steering Commission of residents tasked with designing how PB will work in Richmond.
The PB Steering Commission regularly meets on the First Wednesday of the Month at various spaces around Richmond.
