Street fight prompts calls to 911, no police response
A user on the local Reddit posted about a ruckus late last night and their frustration with the lack of police response:
There was a giant altercation happening since 4:30am near Clopton and Hull. Literally woke up the whole neighborhood. Bunch of screaming fighting assholes in the middle of the road.
Considering there was a shooting near that location this past week and the yelling continued for an hour, I called 911.
When they didn’t show up 30 min later, I called again. When they didn’t show up 20 min after that, I called again was told someone was en route. “what’s their eta?” “We can’t disclose that” Ok… 10 min later still no one.
Someone from our neighborhood ended up yelling at them to shut up and they got punched, I called at the height of escalation and the cops didn’t even come after then.
We’ve reached out to the Richmond Police Department for comment and will update if we get a response.

Richmond Police shows up and solve what they wanna solve. My brother was murdered back in August of 1992 and after over 30 years later, they still haven’t did anything to find the suspect even after having his name because the suspect is from New York City. 3 years after my brother’s murder, I came face to face with my brothers murderer at a young age and wasn’t able to do anything about it. From 2019 to 2022 i have been down to the Police Precinct to try and reopen my brother cases and hasn’t no one even attempted to get in contact with me, my mom, or anyone in the family. And they wonder why we take the law into our own hands! They don’t give a damn about us. They want us to kill each other and go to jail so they can make money off of us going to prison!
