Tablespoons Bakery bakery vandalized
The community courtyard at Tablespoons Bakery was vandalized overnight:
We are deeply saddened to see that our Community Courtyard, a space designed for kids with and without disabilites to play together and form authentic friendships was vandalized. The playset was thrown outside of the fenced area, the mission flag pole was snapped, and toys from our sensory play bins (the brightly colored plastic objects) were shrewn all over a neighboring parking area and property.
Tablespoons Bakery is a vocational culinary training program that provides internship experiences and employment opportunities for young adults with developmental disabilities. Their baking program serves about 50 young adults annually and aims to combat the 70% unemployment rate for their group in the state of Virginia.
