The Tonsler League RVA kicks off new summer basketball league in June

Dr. Wes Bellamy announced yesterday that The Tonsler League RVA will kick off on June 7, 2025. Modelled on the The Tonsler League from Charlottesville, The Tonsler League RVA league is a family-friendly 10 week summer basketball league with games every Saturday 5-9PM at Broad Rock Park.

The registration fee is $750 for a team of up tot 12 players. Cost includes jerseys for the team and referee fees. REGISTER YOUR TEAM HERE →

The Tonsler League RVA will be led by Darryl “Like a Rock” Johnston and Troi Hughes. The new league will kick launch on Saturday June, 7th with RVA Community Day with a bike giveaway for the youth, bounce houses, ice cream, “and a few more surprises!”

This partnership was spearheaded by Councilwoman Nicole Jones (9th District) and community leader Steve Hammond.

Established in 2010 by Damien “Snake” Banks and now run by Dr. Wes Bellamy, The Tonsler League is a summer basketball league based at Tonsler Park in Charlottesville. Each summer teams compete in hopes of winning the championship title and bragging rights until the next season.
