Man found killed on Broad Rock identified as Walter Anariva Ramos

The man found shot to death early Saturday morning on the 1700 block of Broad Rock Boulevard has been identified as Walter Anariva Ramos.

This is the 11th homicide in South Richmond this year; last year at this time there had been 22.

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of the homicide on Broad Rock Boulevard as Walter Anariva Ramos, 26, of Richmond.

Saturday at approximately 12:41 a.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Broad Rock Boulevard for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Anariva Ramos, down on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
